The Virginia Quilt Museum is participating in the ninth annual Great Community Give on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Great Community Give (GCG) is a giving day hosted by the Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County to raise awareness of the nonprofits that benefit our area. This year, VQM’s goal is to raise $22,000. Today, I ask you to help us preserve the history of quilting and help us tell the stories of quilters, by making a donation during the Great Community Give.
One of the wonderful parts of Great Community Give is that there are numerous ways for participating organizations such as VQM to win additional money. Last year VQM won our Power Hour and received a prize of $750 sponsored by iHeart Radio. By donating even $10 you can help us win a prize this year. VQM will once again be focusing on the Tea Time Power Hour from 3:00 - 4:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22. This year the prize for the greatest number of donors has increased to $1,000. A generous donor has also offered a challenge gift for our Power Hour, if we receive 50 donations between 3:00 – 4:00 pm we will unlock a gift of $1,500. If you donate during our Tea Time Power Hour you will be entered into a drawing to win an Oliso Pro Project Iron along with an Ironing Board Cover. If you donate during early giving, between April 7 and April 21, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a prize from Aurifil of the Evolve collection of 8wt hand quilting thread featuring 20 spools of thread.
