SAQA Global Exhibit: Color in Context: Blue

Upcoming Exhibit
Start Date:
April 27, 2027
End Date:
July 31, 2027

The Virginia Quilt Museum is pleased to host Color in Context: Blue, a traveling exhibition from Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) featuring contemporary fiber artists from around the globe. This exhibition brings together artists who interpret one of the world’s most familiar colors, Blue,  in unexpected ways. Through varied materials, techniques, and perspectives, these works explore how a single color can evoke different ideas, emotions, places, and experiences.

The exhibition was juried by British artist Ian Berry, whose innovative artwork made entirely from recycled denim explores the possibilities of an everyday blue material.

Explore the many meanings, moods, and possibilities found in a world of blue.

This exhibition is sponsored at the Virginia Quilt Museum by Helen Blumen. Thank you to Helen for your generous support of VQM and SAQA.
