"Silver Lake" is inspired by a 1950s Greek Square Quilt owned by the Virginia Quilt Museum. The original quilt was made by Clara Reynolds and Phyllis Lindsey. Clara and Phyllis made it as a wedding present for their cousin Mary Spitzer Etter. Mary Etter donated it to the museum in 1997 along with the Ducks in a Pond quilt that inspired the Harrisonburg pattern.
