Join the Virginia Quilt Museum for a chance to see 20 historic quilts from the museum's collection. These quilt turnings are limited to 15 people each so that guests can get an up close look at each of the quilts featured. The same quilts will be shown on Friday and Saturday - please only register for one.

This quilt turning will feature 20 quilts from the VQM collection that were all made between 1900 and 1950. The first half of the 20th century was a time of drastic changes and the quilts made during this time reflect those changes. Quilts evolved from the dark colors of the 1900s and 1910s to the cheerful prints of the late 1930s.

Highlights of this turning will include

1909 Redwork Quilt Top
Circa 1935 Broken Star Quilt
Circa 1940 Trip Around the World Crib Quilt
Circa 1940s Feedsack Hourglass Quilt

We encourage you to make a day or weekend out of your visit and also attend our program with Judith Shuey on Hard Times: Soft Quilts on Saturday, July 25 at 11:30 am.

The Virginia Quilt Museum offers refunds for program and event registrations up until 2 weeks before the program. If you are unable to attend a program that you have paid for, you are welcome to transfer your registration to a friend or family member on your own. Please alert VQM to the change in registration by emailing info@vaquiltmuseum.org. If you would like to request a refund prior to the cutoff deadline please email info@vaquiltmuseum.org and include the name and date of the program you would like a refund for.
