As part of the Virginia Quilt Museum’s 30th anniversary celebration this summer, 10 unique and colorful barn quilts based on quilts from the museum’s collection are displayed at the museum, Fort Harrison, and Rocktown History.
A barn quilt takes the concept of a quilt square, and recreates the design to be displayed on a barn or other structure for passersby to enjoy. These 24’’ x 24’’ barn quilts will be raffled as a fundraiser for the Virginia Quilt Museum. The drawings will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2205. If you see a barn quilt while you are out driving, pause and admire the design and learn about the history behind the quilt.
