The Virginia Quilt Museum is hiring a Part-Time Development Coordinator. The Development Coordinator assists the Executive Director in all fundraising tasks and works the gift shop and front desk as necessary. This position is responsible for gift processing, data entry, and mailing renewal and acknowledgement letters. This position also assists with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, answering emails, and assembling mailings.

The Virginia Quilt Museum celebrates and preserves the quilting arts in Virginia through exhibitions, programs, classes, and events. The Museum offers three floors of rotating, curated gallery space and is open to the public Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00-4:00.

Main Duties of the Position:

1. Works gift shop and front desk including greeting visitors, explaining museum policies, making sales, and answering phone calls

2. During time between visitors, enters memberships and gifts into Little Green Light database

3. Prints and mails acknowledgement letters and membership cards from templates once per week

4. Assists Executive Director in writing fundraising letters, emails, and social media posts

5. Monitors inventory of offices supplies and places orders as necessary

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

● Professional, outgoing, and friendly demeanor

● Exceptional communication skills

● Ability to quickly prioritize tasks and multi-task efficiently

● Familiarity with Square cash register or similar product preferred

This is a Part-Time position of 12-18 hours a week, at $15.00 per hour. Work hours available are Tuesday – Saturday between 9:30-4:30. Applicants should be willing to work occasional Saturdays.
