Quilters’ Save Our Stories – An Exhibit in Coordination with the Quilt Alliance

Start Date:
April 2, 2024
End Date:
June 15, 2024

Started in 1999 by the Quilt Alliance, Quilters' Save Our Stories (QSOS) is the largest oral history collection about quiltmakers in the world. This exhibit features a collection of quilts made by some of the Virginians who have participated in QSOS. Quilting has a long history and has become its own culture. Over time, quilting has changed and expanded from solely traditional to more modern and art quilts. Quilters now have the ability to express themselves in many different forms. Each quilt communicates a message from the artist. However, quilts are also products of the people that made them. Join us as we take a deeper look at these quilts and the stories their makers have shared.
