Volunteer

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at the Virginia Quilt Museum! As a small museum, we could not keep our doors open or our programs running without our wonderful volunteers!

Each day, our volunteers perform meaningful, essential tasks and proudly represent the Virginia Quilt Museum to the public. Our volunteers truly are our best ambassadors and our best advertising.

We always need help in these areas, we bet at least one is a good fit for you!

Docent
(greets visitors, answers questions, assists with group tours)

Shop Desk
(working in the gift shop, making sales, answering the phone)

Programs & Events
(helps with setup and take down of tables and chairs, greets guests, takes pictures, etc)

Community Ambassador
(distributing museum rack cards in your home region to quilt shops and museums - great for those not near Harrisonburg who want to help!)

Collections Aid
(folding quilts, sewing on quilt sleeves, researching quilt history)

Exhibit Install and Take Down
(hanging quilts, folding quilts, must be comfortable climbing ladders)
