Opportunity Raffle Quilts
Each year the Virginia Quilt Museum raffles off a quilt as a fundraiser for the museum. Starting in 2022, we will be offering 2 quilts each year, one a more contemporary quilt, the other a reproduction inspired by a historical quilt in our collection. The contemporary quilt will be raffled off in December each year and the reproduction in July.
2022 Contemporary Opportunity Quilt
This wonderful 66”x66” square quilt was made as a mystery quilt during 2020 and 2021 by Robin Tilsworth of the Alexandria Chapter of Quilters Unlimited. Robin and the Alexandria Chapter graciously donated this quilt to VQM.
Tickets are $1.00 each and the drawing will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 – just in time for the lucky winner to use it as a holiday present, or keep it for themselves!
Winner need not be present.
2022-2023 Inspired by Reproduction Quilt
Etter Sampler Crib Quilt Inspired by Reproduction Quilt
This quilt was inspired by an 1880s small sampler quilt in our collection here at VQM. This reproduction was made by a group of “VQM Alumnae” including Jenny Bolt, Paula Caldwell, Hazel Carter, Beverley Evans, Gloria Comstock, Paula Golden, and Bunnie Jordan. Judith Shuey and Neva Hart also offered additional support to this project. Paula Caldwell did the machine quilting in the style of the original.
