Support the Museum

Support the Virginia Quilt Museum with a donation today.

Help us cultivate the art of quilting through classes, exhibitions, programs, and events, and preserve the quilts of the past by properly caring for our collections.

As a small non-profit, the Virginia Quilt Museum relies on gifts from individuals for most of our funding. Each and every donation helps us keep the lights on, grow our collection, and offer new and exciting exhibitions and programs.

Consider making a recurring monthly gift!

Thank you for your support!
Please note that your contributions may be tax deductible within the limits allowed by law.

If you would like to donate to a specific project or our endowment fund please contact the Executive Director, Alicia Thomas, at to discuss your giving.

Member support of the Virginia Quilt Museum makes all of our work possible. Whether as an individual or a guild, by being a VQM member, you help preserve our quilting heritage while continuing to promote the artistry of quilting throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond. We invite you to join the Virginia Quilt Museum and become part of our Museum community!

Volunteer with us
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at the Virginia Quilt Museum! As a small museum, we could not keep our doors open or our programs running without our wonderful volunteers!

Each day, our volunteers perform meaningful, essential tasks and proudly represent the Virginia Quilt Museum to the public. Our volunteers truly are our best ambassadors and our best advertising.

We always need help in these areas, we bet at least one is a good fit for you!

Opportunity Quilts

Our opportunity quilts are an annual fundraiser. We auction of a quilt made by one of our partnered guilds to raise money for the museum.

Opportunity Quilt
This wonderful 66"x66" square quilt was made as a mystery quilt during 2020 and 2021 by Robin Tilsworth of the Alexandria Chapter of Quilters Unlimited. Robin and the Alexandria Chapter graciously donated this quilt to VQM to be used as our 2022 Contemporary Raffle Quilt.

Tickets are $1.00 each and the drawing will be on Saturday, December 10, 2022 - just in time for the lucky winner to use it as a holiday present or keep it for themselves!

In-House Quilt Board

Located in the main floor gallery, our In-House Quilt Board features handmade small quilts, quilted bags, and more. See a quilt you like for a price you like, and take home your special purchase on the day of your visit! 100% of the proceeds from this special display support the Virginia Quilt Museum.

Seeking Donations! - Do you have a handmade, quilted item that you would be willing to offer to the in-house board? If so, please fill out this form. Or if your donation is a kit, gift certificate or other than a quilt, please click here! These forms may be mailed or dropped off with your donated item. Thank you so much for your support!
