Donate Your Time
At the Virginia Quilt Museum,
we love our volunteers. Volunteers are always needed to
support the Museum's mission of celebrating and nurturing Virginia's quilting heritage. Volunteers play a vital role in greeting our visitors by collecting admission fees, working in the Museum Shop, assisting with special events, guiding tours, leading
children’s activities, presenting at different organizations, and helping with the collection and exhibits. We need everyone's talents. Contact the museum if you have time to spare.

Donate: In Memory or In Honor of Someone Special
Do you know someone who has impacted your life and had a love of quilting? Honor them with a special donation in their name. The Museum will track all donations made in a specific person’s name within a calendar year and when the donations reach $1,856 that person will be added to our 1856 Society and will be remembered forever. Their name will be added to our beautiful plaque that is always on display at the Virginia Quilt Museum. In addition, they will be honored in our quarterly newsletter and on our website.
At the Museum we are very excited to tell you about some programs where you can get your online shopping done and support the Museum at no cost to you!
If you start your online shopping experience at www.ShopForMuseums.com or smile.amazon.com, then you can choose for the Virginia Quilt Museum to be the recipient of a portion of your purchase price. The stores won't give you a discount, but at least they will give back to the Museum. So, please support the Virginia Quilt Museum and start your shopping at one of these generous web-based companies.
How to start shopping and benefiting the Museum?
The 1856 Society is special acknowledgement for those who wish to make a distinctive contribution to the Museum. The names of the 1856 Society members are engraved on a plaque and are on permanent display in the Museum. This is another way to memorialize someone special in your life. To join the 1856 Society, donations should be at least $1,856. Payments may be spread out over several years.
We are always looking to enhance our collection of quilts, sewing related items, and historical objects.
