2016 Annual Membership Meeting
Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016
10am @ Asbury Methodist Church
As a member-serving museum, our 530+ Members are the core of our institution. Members are our greatest allies, financial supporters, and volunteers.
If you are a Member of the Virginia Quilt Museum, please consider joining us for this year's Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, November 12th at 10am. The Annual Meeting, held next door to the Museum at Asbury Methodist Church, includes a short business meeting featuring a recap of this year's activities and a sneak-peek of what is on the horizon, followed by a special program on our most significant acquisition of 2016, the circa 1830s Elizabeth Neff Quilt.
Learn about all things "Neff Quilt" (pictured above with VQM Curator and Registrar Gloria Comstock), from the quilt's design, technique and fabric, to its fascinating journey from Shenandoah County to San Diego and all points in between. Featuring the intricate genealogical research trail that led VQM and Shenandoah County Historical Society researchers to the doorstep of the original owner, Elizabeth "Bettie" Neff, this presentation will be sure to fascinate all quilt lovers!
All attendees are invited by our Hospitality Committee to enjoy some breakfast light bites just before and during the meeting. After the meeting, we encourage all Members to stroll next door and enjoy our current exhibits.
PLEASE NOTE that this event is open to VQM Members only.
