the goal for 2016's year end campaign is $18,000.

that is a lot of money for our small museum.

about 10% of our annual operational budget in fact.

this 10% goes far in keeping the museum's doors open for the more than 6,000 visitors we welcome each year. it also insures that we are able to continue to host dozens of unique exhibits and educational programs each year, an output that far exceeds most museums of our size.

read on for some "by the numbers" figures of our current and upcoming operations! if you like what you see, be sure to give today and help us maintain these impressive figures!

Not so much of a numbers person? We have you covered too!
Check out these written reviews provided on TripAdvisor in 2016:

"This three floor, beautifully kept historic house holds a gem of various quilts from the 1800s to today. We enjoyed the careful hanging and explanations of the quilts' histories. Neither my husband or I are skilled in this art, but could still appreciate the gorgeous work. For a few dollars per person, we spent over an hour reading the information plates and enjoying these lovely pieces. If you like small museums put together with care, I suggest a visit."

"Just saw the National Parks quilt exhibit and the Spice Route quilt exhibit here, as well as an exhibit of older Presidential themed quilts. Astonished by the creativity and imaginations of these quilters! ... Nice place to stop for an hour or two. You don't have to be a quilter to appreciate the craftsmanship and beauty of the works on exhibit."

"Ladies if you enjoy admiring needlework, specifically quilting and your husband enjoys beautifully restored old historic homes, this is the place to spend an hour! The quilts are both old and new and are gorgeous examples of intricate needlework. The house has some amazing woodwork in the floors, two beautiful fireplaces and some really special antique radiators. There are other wonderful features to admire. Stop off and take a look."

As a VQM supporter, we hope you are pleased with the numbers above. We take our mission of "nurturing and celebrating Virginia's quilting heritage" seriously, and we think it shows.

We also hope that the words of our patrons resonate with you, and perhaps remind you of the first time you visited the Virginia Quilt Museum. We are proud to know that so many of our visitors find joy and inspiration as they view our beautiful quilt exhibits and journey through our equally beautiful historic home.
